Marblehead Neck
Marblehead Neck is a peninsula that forms the east side of Marblehead Harbor. Access is gained by crossing the causeway. The current causeway may be reinforced, paved and lined with sea walls, but a naturally-formed causeway always linked the Neck to the town. The 3.5 mile circular drive around the Neck offers stunning views of both the famous harbor with over 2,000 boats/yachts, the Atlantic Ocean and all of the desirable properties nestled in between. The Neck is primarily a residential area with approximately 350 homes. There are three yacht clubs--Eastern, Corinthian and Pleon--which is a club for young sailors learning the sport.
There are some points of interest that are worth viewing--Marblehead Light, Chandler Hovey Park, Castle Rock Park, Carcassonne, Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and the huge whale topiary on Foster Street.
